Factors Affecting PCB Delivery Time

2021-10-18

Delivery time and timeliness are very important for the PCB industry, therefore, the whole process from placing an order to starting production needs to be strictly controlled. Can every order be guaranteed to be delivered on time? Do you know the factors that affect the PCB delivery time? For a product such as PCB that needs to be customized, there are many factors that affect the delivery time. For example, affected by COVID-19 in the past two years, a shortage of raw materials, resulting in a backlog of orders; Government enacts policy to limit electricity consumption, makes the factory's capacity to decline sharply. So, what are the other factors besides these relatively special circumstances?

1. Confirm the working draft and EQ

This is common when communicating with foreign clients, because of the time difference, when engineers need to confirm EQs or some parts need to be updated in the design while processing data, unable to communicate with customers in a timely manner. This will result in a delay of one to two days in the stage of making the working draft.

2. Redo due to scrap

Some difficult PCBs may be completely scrapped or partially scrapped due to some reasons when the production reaches a certain stage. In this case, it is generally necessary to replenish materials for production again, thus the delivery time is prolonged.

3. Factory production status

The production status of some PCB manufacturers can only meet small batch production, when it comes to mass production, there will be insufficient personnel in the production line, unable to achieve the capacity target, etc. make the PCB cannot be delivered on time.

4. Procurement of raw materials

It is difficult to purchase some special PCB materials, or in shortage and short supply, this makes the delivery of the entire order in terms of delayed. This situation is generally more common in the procurement of special plates such as Neltec and ISOLA DE104.

The above factors are the more common problems for suppliers, what are the reasons for the delay of PCB production on the part of the purchaser?

1. Modify the data

Propose temporary change or modification of data when the production process is half over.

2. Place urgent order

Suddenly placing an expedited purchase order, unilaterally specifying a delivery date, etc.

In addition, there are some natural and man-made disasters and other force majeure contingencies will also have a huge impact on the delivery date.
